Our Services

General Contracting / Construction Management

Whether we are the sole GC or a watchful eye on projects, McCoy and company can help with you construction management needs. With our combined leadership experience of over 72 years in the construction industry we know the points to look for and are constantly proactive to identify and eliminate said hiccups before they happen.

Scheduling

We believe in empowering our team. We also recognize the importance of good scheduling to meet the client’s goals. An important difference in our approach to scheduling is that our field personnel are computer literate and are responsible for producing and maintaining our schedules with input from all other team members, subcontractors and owners/clients. We believe that if the field team is going to successfully execute the schedule, they need to create it.

Pre-Planning

Our preplanning involves many hours of project meetings with team members that include project managers, superintendents, estimators, engineers, foreman and safety officers. Preplanning our projects reduces change orders, produces effective schedules, improves quality of work and safety and establishes a plan that can be executed to produce the ideal results for our clients.

ProFormas/Budget Strategies

We are often asked at the early stages of a project to assist in determining whether the project is viable. Our 30 years of experience in the construction business allows us to provide accurate insight into costs and alternative building systems. We provide: Conceptual cost estimates, constructability reviews, building and site analysis, and schedule information.

SIR (Site Investigative Reports)

McCoy and Company offers the ability to do work in jurisdictions that may not be in your normal realm. We will investigate the requirements of these jurisdictions from project inception, to zoning approvals through project completion and C of O. Items that would be identified in the SIR would be, zoning requirements and guidelines, permitting timing and requirements, utility companies and their requirements for service, and impact fees and local taxes.

Value Engineering

As we all know architects do their best to create and design the ideal building for their client. That does not always mean that it is cost effective or in the budgets that the clients have set forth for construction. We, at McCoy and company, will help to identify costly designs and strive to reduce costs while minimizing overall concept and design.

 

Infill Development

Infill development is closely related to smart growth. It involves building and developing in vacant areas, in city centers or urban settings. It includes new construction on scattered vacant or underutilized lots in the established neighborhoods and business districts of your community. These infill sites are typically located closer to the center of your community and are already served by public infrastructure, such as roads, water and sewer lines. This type of development promotes the betterment of these aforementioned areas and leaves rural areas and open spaces undeveloped. Advocates of infill development say that it can reduce traffic congestion, save open space and create more livable, sustainable communities. Infill development offers many benefits to a community but does not happen by its own volition; intervention by forward thinking developers and your local government must work together to bring urban infill projects to fruition and repurpose an otherwise underutilized piece of property for a higher and better use.
